Hi, there! I’m James Erwin, but I actually go by my middle name, Tyler. I currently work as a Curriculum and Technology Integration Specialist and EdTech Coach for Forward Edge in Cincinnati, Ohio. Previously, I had the privilege of teaching 7th grade Language Arts at Norwood Middle School and serving as the Technology Integration Specialist for the district. Before that, I worked with Juniors and Seniors as a special education teacher at both Glen Este High School and Goshen High School. But, no matter where I’ve been, one of my biggest priorities has always been championing instructional technology in the classroom.
In March 2014, I married my wife, Megan, and about a year ago we adopted a terrier puppy who we named Lady! She’s our baby, and we are totally those weird animal people who have a phone full of dog pictures. In my spare time, I love playing and watching sports, traveling, cooking, gardening, and fishing. Along with that, I enjoy creating and managing websites for local non-profit companies. I made my first classroom website several years ago, and that experience fueled my passion for new instructional technologies.
My goal for this blog is to regularly share new, brief, practical EdTech tips and tricks, highlight best practices in the classroom, and showcase wonderful resources that can take any lesson to the next level. I wholeheartedly believe that effective technology integration is the future of education, and I hope you’ll follow my journey through the ever-changing EdTech landscape.
